With a background in literature, music, media, and business, I have worked on both the creative and administrative sides of non-profit, commercial, and arts organizations. When I became certified to teach yoga in 2017, I was working in accounting for a commercial real estate developer, freelancing as a producer, and teaching audio editing at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. After earning my 200-hour certification in Hatha Yoga, I happily reduced my three gigs to just one.
Currently I enjoy teaching a variety of yoga classes—from gentle to power—for adults, adolescents, and children in the greater Kansas City area through NKCYOGA, Kids Logic Academic Learning Center, my private studio, and other schools and studios around town. I also continue to enjoy singing with the Kansas City Symphony Chorus, writing, and collaborating with area artists on film, video, and stage productions, swimming, hiking, and being with friends, family, and my sweet animals.
Over two decades ago, I began to explore the benefits of yoga after a car accident that left me with chronic pain and would eventually lead to permanent damage of the vertebrae in my spine. Through yoga I found pain relief, greater strength, focus, and balance, strategies for managing stress and anxiety, and a sense of community and healing.
I earned my 200-hour RYT certification with Candace Glass of St. Louis, MO’s Southtown Yoga, and Sarah Edwards and Ellen Niedgringhaus of Bluebird Yoga in St. Charles, MO, both of which are Yoga Alliance registered yoga schools.
Find me throughout the week for public classes at North Kansas City’s NKCYOGA. Or contact me to book a private or group session. I can bring yoga for all ages and stages to you and your family, friends, coworkers, etc., at your home, school, place of business/worship, and can tailor a practice to your needs. Choose your class length and style, from 30-90 minutes, gentle to power.
Give yourself the gift of yoga: the union of mind, body, and spirit. Namaste
